I first started playing field hockey when I was in fifth grade. At that time, I was also playing ice hockey, so I felt it would be an easy transition. I soon realized that not only was it different but also that I had found my true passion. I instantly switched my focus from the ice to the field and have never looked back. As I became more involved in the sport of field hockey the more I realized my love for the sport. As a freshman not only did I make the Varsity team, I was also a starter. At this point, I realized that I could take my skills to the collegiate level. My collegiate goals and aspirations are to play field hockey at either the D1 or D3 level and to not leave my talent on the high school field. I would like to continue to share playing a sport I love with new teammates and learn new techniques and skills on how to better my game from a college coach and at the university level. I am a good candidate for any team seeing as I am a very tenacious player. I am adaptable to new and different coaches. I demonstrate teamwork not only in games but also in practice because that is what is needed to create a winning team. I am also very dedicated to the sport itself and do all that I can to improve mentally and physically. I always do my best to give everything I have, whether it be on the field or in school. I have the ability to not only see the ball but to also see the play, how the players are situated on the field and where the ball needs to go so that I can assist in maneuvering it for successful play. To better myself academically, I strive to improve each quarter as well as plan to take higher level courses throughout my high school and college careers. While doing this, I push myself academically so that I can continually learn and be the best student I can be. It is important for me to continually challenge myself, understand how what I learn at school and on the field can be applied to my everyday life now and in the future so that I can be the best version of myself.
