Personal Statement
I am a 5’7” forward from Summit, NJ, class of 2018. I am a three-year varsity player for Summit High School and also play for New Heights Field Hockey Club. I will captain my high school field hockey team my senior-year season (fall 2017). As well, I play varsity basketball and lacrosse (JV) for Summit High School. It is very important to me to attend a high-academic 4-year college as a student-athlete. I am interested in making an impression in the classroom and on the field. I want to have an impact on the field early in my college career. My current coaches have told me I have outstanding field awareness and exceptional passing skills. I am extremely coachable and apply my intelligence on all fields of play. My cumulative GPA for freshman/sophomore year is 4.401 (out of 4.0). My ACT score is 34 (taken April 2016 as a sophomore).
Off the field I am pursuing a rigorous academic schedule. My junior year classes include: AP English, AP US History, AP Chemistry, and Honors Introductory to Analysis (pre-requisite to BC Calculus). I will take 6 AP / Honors classes my senior year: AP Calculus BC , AP Physics C, AP Studio Art, AP European History, AP US Government & Politics, and English 4 Honors. Outside of school I serve on the Peer Servant Team at my church, a leadership team selected by our youth group minister.
I am an artist with an interest in engineering, design and architecture. I intend to combine my my math and science interests with my art/creative skills and study mechanical engineering in college.
I am a strong candidate academically and athletically that will contribute a great deal to the college community as a whole. And I'm looking forward to a college field hockey program contributing to my personal growth and development as a leader, a teammate, and as an individual.
