Personal Statement
My name is Emily Willard I am a 16 year old senior at Cazenovia High School in Cazenovia, New York. I am a forward at 5'5" and weight about 113 pounds. I realize I started the recruiting process a little late however I am very interested in playing at a collegiate level. I have been playing field hockey for a little over six years and for the past few years I have been coaching the program that helped me learn how to play field hockey. I am a 3 sport varsity athlete. Besides field hockey I play varsity lacrosse and varsity indoor track. I have been a participant in the Furtures program for the past three years. I also play on a club team called Southern Tier Storm which is based out of Binghamton, New York. On junior varsity field hockey I was a team captain. They choose me because I am a team leader, hardworking and talented. As a captian, I helped lead our team to an undefeated season. On varstiy, I was the second leading scorer which helped lead our team to an amazing season ending with a state championship! For both practices and games, I am the first person to be on the field and the last one to leave. Ever since I picked up my first field hockey stick I have always wanted and dreamed to be a collegiate player. I have been working very hard to create that dream for myself. I would like to go to a four year college where I can get a great education and be part of a great sports program. Also I would like to go to a school that has more than 2000 students. One of my goals is to play my freshman year. Also I want to play at the highest possible level that I am capable of playing. I would love to continue to be a team player and make an impact on the field and off the field. Wherever I go, I just want to play!
