Personal Statement

Throughout many years of being an athlete, field hockey is a sport I have grown to love more than anything.  No matter what's going on in my life, field hockey is something I can always count on to bring a smile to my face.  I want to play field hockey for as long as I can and that continues with playing at the collegiate level.

I have played and started for Massapequa High School's Varsity field hockey team since I was a freshman and it has helped me grow tremendously as both a player and a person.  I act as a leader on the field as I am able to control the pace of the game through making quick passes up the field and recovering quickly on defense.  I am a leader off the field as I get the team excited for our games while dancing to our warm up playlist.  I am extremely self-motivated.  I know it will take a lot of hard work to achieve my fullest potential and become the best player I can be.  I push my teammates by pushing myself and challenging myself to be the first to complete every run and the quickest to get through each drill, while also being precise and detail oriented while working on my skills.  My club team is Strong Island, which I have played on since I was in 7th grade.  Coaches such as Tina Moon and Carissa Eye have brought out the best in me and have advanced my game tremendously.

My hard work and persistence is evident in my school work as well as my athletics.  I hold an unweighted average of 97.286 while taking all of the AP classes that are available to me and challenging myself in courses such as Anatomy and Physiology,  American Sign Language, and Chinese.  After college, I plan on going to graduate school to further pursue a degree in nursing or elsewhere in the medical field.

My dream is to play field hockey in college.  I am willing to work harder than ever to make that dream a reality.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
