I am a Varsity Field Hockey Goalie who is also an Honors Student taking AP and college courses. I have been playing field hockey since 6th grade and am the starting goalie on both my Varsity and Travel teams. I am a Futures Level 1 player, I train at Columbia University in NYC and have the opportunity to play with some pretty amazing people.
In my high school I am an executive member of Girls Learn International, a member of choir, the literary magazine, Youth and Government, Model UN, SADD, Math League, I am a peer tutor and I also play Varsity Lacrosse. I am member of the National Honor Society, Science, Social Studies and Language Honor societies. I received the Latin award and the Speech and Debate Award from my school. I participate in community service activities with my church and local athletic club for special needs children. I am currently working as a volunteer on a local candidates campaign for election to the NYS senate. As often as possible I work babysitting.
I am looking for a program that will challenge me both academically in the classroom and physically on the field.
My coach calls me the "voice in the back field" because I help direct plays on the field as well as encourage and support my teammates. I have spent this past summer training the younger goalies and working with them to help create a stronger team for the future. Like any other teenager I like to have fun and share good times with my friends and teammates, but when we are on the field its time to get the job done.
I love the sport and I like to be challenged to learn new things and try new strategies on the field. I am respectful of my coaches and their decisions. And I believe it takes everyone working together to make a winning team.
No matter what I take on, I do it with 110% passion and dedication.
