Personal Statement
I have aspired to play field hockey in college since I first picked up a stick. Field hockey has become one of the most important parts of my life, and it has taught me so many important lessons that I can apply to both the game and my everyday life.
Not only am I one of the most dedicated and hardest working players on the field, but I also use my understanding of the game to make smart decisions when I am both on and off the field. When I am not on the field, I am watching videos and practicing on my own, learning various skills and tactics from a different perspective. When I am on the field I give 100%, and use my time on the field to make myself a stronger and smarter player.
One of my strongest qualities is that I am very coachable. Every coach I have ever had has told me that one of the strongest aspects of my game is that I can take advice and apply it no matter what the situation is. I am also a very versatile player. Even though I am primarily a defender, I have also been moved up to offense as a catalyst for goals and assists.
Mental strength is not only one of my strongest assets on the field, but it also makes me a valuable college recruit off the field. I am very academically strong, and focus on challenging myself in order to aim for high success. Not only is my hard work one of my most compelling qualities on the field, but it is also one of my greatest strengths in the classroom as well.
I love playing field hockey, and it would be a dream come true to continue playing at a collegiate level!
