Personal Statement
Field hockey was the first sport I tried out. I did not compete athletically until I entered the 6th grade. Only playing field hockey, it shows the passion I have for the sport. I have played for several teams, and had the opportunity to play with many different people. This shows that I am able to cooperate with people and adapt to different styles of play. I have been told I am a coachable player. I listen well, ask questions if confused, and complete the tasks my coach asked of me to the best of my ability. I am a friendly person and believe teamwork is an important aspect of a team. Determination fuels my eagerness to learn new skills and apply them to my game and everyday life.
I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically. The experience a student-athlete has is excellent and provides many opportunities. I am willing to face the challenges that being a student athlete has to offer. Succeeding on the field is as important to me as succeeding in the classroom.
I am still unsure of what I want to major in, but I am very interested in a business major, like sports marketing. Or I would like to study sports medicine. I also want to stay on the east coast.
I am a good fit for your team because I am coachable, hardworking, and determined. I want to achieve my goals by playing field hockey and getting a good education in college. I am willing to do whatever it takes to ensure I accomplish my goals.
