Personal Statement
My dream is to play on a field hockey team at the college or university level. This past year was my fifth year playing the game and I was a captain of the Christ Church Episcopal School varsity field hockey team which was an honor. I loved being a captain! Our record was an improvement from last year which was shocking considering we lost eight seniors this year. For being the only team in the state, we can hold our ground which is nice as we are improving and growing the game in the South! Last season, I tied the school record for most goals scored in one game by one person which was three. I also play on the Charlotte Ambush Field Hockey Club Under 19 girls team right now and I have for the past three years. For me, this includes Wednesday skill sessions and Sunday scrimmages as well as several tournaments that include Elon University Revolution Camp three times, Top of The Class and Super Sixty Camps. I have been to both Festival and Disney twice now. I also am playing on the Indoor field hockey team for Charlotte Ambush. I have participated in that for two seasons and truly have enjoyed it. Throughout my Ambush Experience, I have learned to better my stick skills, learned to play smoother instead of sloppy chipping and hitting it somewhere and hoping my pass connects, my team has taught me that in Field Hockey you are supposed to support your teammates and that is how you become successful, it is not an individual game but a team game. My next tournament will be Top Recruit in Bel Aire Maryland on April 18th and 19th, 2015. I am still changing my mind all the time on what I would like to pursue as my College Major, but I do want to attend a college or university that has a strong Liberal Arts program.
