Personal Statement
In the environment of my boarding school in southern Virginia, I have been pushed harder academically than ever before and there was a period of adjustment for me. I transferred as a sophomore during a time of turmoil at home, which also affected my focus in and out of the classroom. Through that experience, I was able to gain valuable life skills in pushing through adversity while juggling honors classes and 3 varsity sports.
I have played on many different teams throughout the past 5 years and they have all taught me different skill sets - how to work for success, never to settle for a position on the bench, and that confidence comes from within. The teams I have played on have taught me that hard work pays off and that win or lose- your team is your family. Take care of them, support them, brag on them, and love them.
When I think about college, I am looking for a school that will continue to provide me with more valuable life lessons, a strong team dynamic, and an academically rigorous school. The past few semesters on my transcript reflect both the adversity I have faced and the lessons I've learned. I look forward to continuing to put in the work in college and studying my passions of English, history, and photography.
