Personal Statement
I started playing field hockey when I was in seventh grade and have loved it ever since, it overtook my aspirations of ski racing and became the sport I wanted to pursue in college. It's something that I am very passionate about and it has provided me with many positive and negative experiences, however each and every one has taught me a lesson whether it's about work ethics, teammates, friendships, or life in general; I have learned so much from it. I've been lucky enough to be a part of two state championship teams, my freshman and sophomore year. So as a captain and center midfielder my junior year, it's an understatement to say it stung when we lost in the semi-final game. However I have no regrets as we played our hearts out as a team and never gave up. It's only made me realize how much I really do love the game no matter what the outcome is.
Playing field hockey in college would be a dream come true. Field hockey offers me so many benefits physically and mentally and I feel like I can give just as much back. Not only can I offer my stick skills, agility, and field knowledge to a team, but also my encouragement and positive attitude on and off the field. I would like to play at a school where I can learn and improve enough to one day reach my full potential.
