Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Aubrey Hart. I am a tenth-grader at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama. My ambition is to play college football. I want to go to a college where I can (i) start and contribute to the team, (ii) play for a coach who develops excellent athletes and young men, and (iii) get a great education.
My first sport was baseball, but I was introduced to football in fourth grade and loved it since the first snap. I want to play at the next level, so I am working hard to improve myself and to challenge myself with new goals.
I start at wide receiver in a 7A conference in one of the toughest regions in the south. Last year I was selected as All Metro South and freshman year at the end of the season I was brought up to Varsity. In preparation for this year, I attended a Football University (FBU) camp in Atlanta, Georgia. I worked hard at camp, learned a lot, and was invited to the highly selective Top Gun football camp in Ohio (but could not attend because of my team’s summer practices).
Although I am somewhat of a quiet person, I am considered a leader on our football team, and I try to lift up the team through my actions. I am pleased I have been selected as team captain for games, which on our team is an honor of pride and leadership. I always try to help my team win in any situation whether by catching a pass or by making a key block.
Education is very important to me. My school is a Blue Ribbon school for 2014-15, the only one in our state. I have good grades and strive to learn and do well in school. Academics are important in my family, and I know that it is important to get a good education so I can pursue and accomplish my career goals after college. That is why I take into account the education offered by the school and not just the athletics in looking at colleges.
