Personal goal statement

My name is Leonard, I am 17 years old from Fairfield, AL. I am facing many life decisions as high school graduation is approaching. I know that my goals are to attend a college on a football scholarship and major in Exercise Science and Wellness. I later plan to pursue a Master’s in Sports Management. With this degree, I plan to pursue a career in collegiate/professional athletic training and coaching in addition to creating sports programs for the youth in the community and home town I grew up in.
While academics is my main focus in attending school because I know that with sports, anything can happen, but the heart of why I would like to attend a great college is so that I can participate in the school’s athletic team as a defensive linebacker. Football has been my passion since I was young playing on little league teams. In addition to football, I also play basketball. Sports keeps me motivated and energized. I believe I am a great candidate for your team because I am humble and I understand that hard work and dedication to your craft are the keys to success. My character is different from other players because I do not believe that charm and arrogance leads a person anywhere. My mom and grandmother instilled in me values and morals that I plan to take with me all of my life. I have worked hard and taken direction from my coaches over the years that has made me a better player personally and for the teams I have played on. I may not make all As in school, but I know how to ask for help and I give 100% of myself academically.
Thank you for you considering me as a candidate for your program.
