Personal Statement
As far as I can remember, I have been playing organized sports. I come from a very athletic family that promotes excellence on and off the field.
In my sophomore year I was elected as an all-conference performer in the highest classification in Arkansas football (7A). I was also named to the Arkansas Super-Sophomore team and the only offensive player from my high school. As a junior I was voted one of four captains by my teammates.
In the classroom and on the field, I try to be the best leader I can be. I push myself and my teammates to constantly give maximum effort. Every Monday morning the core receivers and I run routes with the quarterbacks at 6:45 a.m. before school, and on Thursdays we watch game film at 7:00 a.m. I understand the importance of leading by example; therefore, I encourage my teammates to give their best.
In high school I play multiple positions (i.e. running back, wide receiver, cornerback, punt and kick returner and some quarterback). I am currently looking, and want to play, for a school that has both an excellent academic and athletic program, with no preference to in or out-of-state. I plan to major in Management (preferably Sports Management).
My goals for college are to get a great education and help a football team achieve success. I understand success starts in practice and having a willingness to give 100%...every single play. I would like to help my team be national contenders every year, while at the same time improving myself on and off the field.
I am constantly looking for ways to improve my skills and knowledge of the game of football. In the weight room I am getting stronger each and every day. My recent weight-lifting efforts have maxed out at 285 pounds on bench, 430 on squats, and 235 on power clean. My 40 time is 4.49 and the shuttle is 4.00. I will be attending several camps and combines this summer to improve on these measurable stats.
