Personal Statement

God, Family, and School. These are the three most important things in my life.  God always comes first and I try my hardest to follow the steps of God.  I'm very active in my church and I am a part of FCA and Partners in Christ.

Next, my Dad is the most important person on this earth to me.  He is the reason I have such a strong interest in and play sports today,  He didn't force me to do anything, but he taught me that once I start something, to not give up or quit.  This man is my biggest supporter, but he doesn't sugarcoat anything.  He tells me how it is, and that is a big help.  The rest of my family are big supporters too, and they also tell me how it is and they push me to do greater things.

To me, doing my best in school is necessary.  I may slip sometimes, but I work my butt off to get my grades where they should be.  At the end of high school, when it is all said and done, I would like to know that not only am I able to go to college for sports, but that I have the option to go to college on academic scholarships as well.

I am a very outgoing person who isn't afraid to speak or be the one to lead the group.  I surround myself with people who want to do and are doing their best, so it helps to bring out my best.  I thrive on competition.  I do my best at everything I do, whether it is on the field, in the classroom, or at my house.  If there is a challenge, just know that I'm going to work as hard as possible to be the best.  I love to hear the announcer say my name at the game or see my name in the newspaper.  But, at the same time, I'm very humble and you won't ever hear me start a conversation about how great I did or boast about myself.  Although I believe that I am the best, I also believe that everyone else can be their best and I take pride in helping others gain confidence and be better.  I'm a DREAM CHASER!  I have dreams that will become reality, and I will put forth the effort to make sure they happen.

I love football for many reasons, one of which is because it helps me in other subjects of life.  Football shows me how to lead, but it also shows me how to be led and take criticism.  It has taught me that being one as a team and working together is important.  No one team member is greater than the next.   We are all working together towards a common goal.  My teammates know I have their back and I know they have mine.

At the end of the day, I love football and that's why I want to be a coach and a teacher.  I want to show other young people and adults how to get to the next level or help them through whatever it is they are going through.  The reason I chose coaching and teaching over some high paying occupation is because I would love to know that I played a part in helping someone else reach their potential and achieve their goals.  I'm not saying you can't do that in another occupation, but this is the one that is calling me.
