Personal Statement
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I am a Junior at Lakeside High School in Hot Springs, Arkansas. I love playing football, I have been playing football since I was four years old. This season I earned the starting right tackle spot for our varsity team and I also play center in a rotation. I earned it through extra work during the offseason. I am also a varsity starter for the Lakeside Wrestling team. It was challenging to wrestle juniors and seniors in the Heavyweight class, but I never backed down from the challenge. During my two years of wrestling we have been taught Character, Discipline and Respect, on the mat, in the classroom and in life. It has reinforced what I have been taught all my life by my parents. I am looking forward to my 3rd season this year after placing 4th in the state last season as a sophomore.
While football and wrestling are my sports passions, my educational passion is science. I am not sure yet what field I want to enter, but I really like physics. I consider my academic career as important as my sports career. I am enrolled in pre-AP classes and will have earned several college credit hours by the time I graduate high school. With your team I would be a hard worker on and off the field and in the classroom.
I love my mom and dad and have learned many life lessons from them that have translated to the field and the mat. They have not only taught me to respect others, but to dream big and to set goals that lead to success. I look forward to hearing from you about the goals that you have for your program and how I can work to help the team achieve them.
