Personal Statement

A 2.86 GPA student at Chula Vista High School in Chula Vista , California, I am  a two-sport star who also wrestles.
I was born in San Diego, California  to Latosha Candler, who at the time was 17 years old and single who also played basketball. at the age of 2 years old I experienced an tragedy where I was burned from my waist down. At the age of 3 I was adopted by my auntie Monique Candler,  who was a single mother of 3 boys Jevante' Reed and  Jayvon Reed, and Traylon Reed. During my recovery the doctors stated that my hair wouldn't  grow due to the skin graphs, which I currently have a head full of hair, and that I had to have in three different locations on my body, and that I would need skin graphing surgery every 2 year for growth on my legs, in which I haven't had one surgery. I started playing football at the age of nine for ssdib Chiefts South San Diego Imperial Beach, I started off playing flag and move up to tackle, then off to high school where I currently played the position running back and defensive end and the outside line backer,  I also wrestle on off season for football.
I am a strong individual and I take my education very seriously. I have goals, dreams, and aspirations which, I know I will be able to accomplish whatever it is that I set my mind to. I am a Sophomore at Chula Vista High School.  I am a team leader and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates and my siblings Avionna Maulpue 14, Elenise Maulpue 12 and Avion Maulpue 14, Going to college is very important to me. I'm hard worker by playing on my school's football team has greatly improved my ability to work as a part of a team. I learnt to be self-motivated and take responsibility for my own learning by teaching myself to play the Ukulele, determined, to keep my academics up by working my guidance counselor to develop a list of academic achievement and athletic ability, I am always working to improve my skills as well as training to get bigger, faster and stronger. I always challenge myself, and being a positive example to the youth in my community. My passion for football and being apart of a team that a could call family is the life style I'm looking for, I am very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players, the recruits will see that my determination in training and on the field, will prove that I'm determined to be an positive example, a great team player, to show anyone that has had an childhood similar to mines that you can over come anything as long as you apply yourself and be positive and believe in yourself you can become anything you want to be in life.
