Personal Statement
Hello coach my name is Ryan Ellis Greer. I am 6 foot 1 and 210 pounds. I have been playing football since the fourth grade. I have played everything from nose tackle and defensive end to linebacker and running back. Being surrounded by natural athletes in the Palm springs, CA (Coachella Valley) area I felt that the only way I could get an edge on them was to make the weight room a close friend. The summer before my freshmen year I attended the University of Redlands Football Camp and instead of playing with the 14 and 15 year olds like myself, I decided I would get more out of the camp if I played with that 16-18 year olds. By the end of the camp, I was praised for my stellar performance and was presented the awards for best line backer and best performance from a freshman in the camp. Everyday in the summer of my sophomore and junior years I would go to the local park to run sprints and practice foot work in the desert heat visualizing myself doing great things. I have maintained a 3.5 GPA and I am also an active member in USB and AVID. I also attended numerous football camps. If I had to pick one word to describe myself it would be perseverance because not only do I have the ability to perform best when the game is on the line, but I also have the ability to overcome a deficit and keep playing hard when there is seemingly nothing to play for. I realized that everyone on the team matters and that every position is important. Anywhere I go I will play as hard as I can and I know I will benefit the team in many ways. Thanks for taking the time to view my profile.
Sincerely,
Ryan Greer
