Personal Statement

My attitude towards football is something that I value most. I may not be the biggest, tallest, fastest, or strongest, but I will outsmart my opponent. I study game film to learn players' tendencies. I do NOT believe that football BUILDS character. Football REVEALS character. It is NOT when you win that reveals character. It is when you fail that your character is revealed. Every game, or practice, I approach the same way. I outwork the person next to me. I am always the first person on the field, and the last one to leave. I do not play this game to benefit me, I play this game because I want to be successful. I want my parents to stop working. I want to put my family in a better situation, financially and physically.

As far as academics, I am a STUDENT-ATHLETE. The word student comes first. So I put in the effort to do my studies as I do on the football field. Anyone can take football, basketball, and soccer away from me, but they can never take my degree from me. At the end of the day, it is never how big you are, if you are NOT putting time and effort to your schoolwork, and not show up to class, that size does not matter.

I do not believe in trash-talking. I have learned to keep quiet and let my game do the talking for me. I have taught kids that know nothing of the game. I have taught them the same way I teach myself. Repetition is key to learning in any situation. It is how an individual could get better. My life consists of three things: God, Family, Everything else. I'm thankful to be able to play the game because God has allowed me to do so. Family is important to me because they are the ones that have supported me through all I've been through. I, in any situation, place myself behind others because I am that kind of guy. I will leave whatever it is I am doing to assist others who are in need. My parent's have taught me to treat others how I would like to be treated. Even if they do not treat me right, I do so anyway.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
