Personal Statement

My name is Nolan Smith. I  finished my Junior year as a 3 year Varsity shot/discus thrower and 3 year Varsity football starter (Left Tackle, Defensive End, Special Teams and Punter) at Patrick Henry High in San Diego, Ca.

I am my high school's record holder in 10lb. and 12lb. shot. As a freshman, I was a City Section/Eastern League qualifier in discus and my school's Freshman Field Athlete of the Year.

I was a San Diego Section CIF Qualifier (as a sophomore) in discus in 2015 and league finalist. In 2016 as a junior, I was a league finalist in shot and San Diego Section CIF Qualifier. I finished the season as the #3 ranked junior in San Diego County for shot.

Overall, I am a 5-time San Diego Section CIF Qualifier (3 in football, 1 in discus, 1 in shot). I was also  Captain of the Patrick Henry Varsity Football team,  1st Team All-City League Offense in 2016 and Captain of the Field team.

I have been on Honor Roll every semester of high school. I took multiple Honor's courses my junior year and am a 3- time elected member of the San Diego Union Tribune All Academic Team 2015-2017.

I earned a 4.17 GPA my final semester of junior year. I am taking 2 AP classes and a full load my Senior year.

I am a quick study, very coachable and love to throw. I am as competitive in the classroom as I am on the field. I know I would be a great ambassador for a college or university because of my loyalty to program and drive to succeed, in all aspects of my life.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
