Hello, my name is Danny Mattero and I am a 6'3" QB from Calvary Chapel High School in California. I have been playing football for 12 years now and I have a strong passion for the game. My goal is to play collegiate football and hopefully make it to the NFL. I have played all 4 years of my high school career and have been a varsity veteran for 3 years. I have been mainly a defensive specialist, but my senior year I switched to QB and I could not have asked for a better season. I am a dual threat QB who runs a no huddle, read option offense. I had a passing completion of 63% with over 3000 yards and 31 TD passes. I had 89 rushing attempts for 589 yards and 11 TDs. I play Strong Safety on defense and led my team in tackles and interceptions. This season was record breaking for Calvary Chapel Football and myself personally. Calvary Chapel was inducted in Orange County History along with our rivals, Laguna Beach for being the highest combined score since 1929 (62-56) During that game I threw for a total of 517 yards inducting me into OC History for most passing yards in a single game. I broke the school record for longest interception return for 94 yards. I completed the season with 3034 passing yards and was awarded Offensive MVP of the Orange Coast League and received 1st team all league. I have been incredibly blessed to be named as one of the best football players in Calvary Chapels history. As a 2 year captain, i know that I owe all my accomplishments to my coaches for always encouraging me and to my team for giving 100% effort in every game. I cannot take all the credit for everything because I am only a small part of the success that our team had this season.
I graduated from Trinity International University in 2018 with a Bachelor's in Exercise Science and a Minor in Business. I have one year of eligibility still because I took a redshirt my freshman year in 2014
