2013 Junior Season Update: After my first 5 games at OLB, I am leading the league in TFL's with 11 for the season. I have also been award the Visalia Rotary Quarterback Club Player of the Game for week 5.
My name is Tate Nelson. I am a Junior at Central Valley Christian High School. My stats are: 6'3" 210 lbs., 4.69 40 yd., 4.4 shuttle, 27 vert., 97 inch standing reach and 3.73 GPA. My primary position is Outside Linebacker. The last two years I led my JV team with 70 tackles, 7 sacks, and 15 TFL's per season. I absolutely love football, and I would like to continue playing after High School at a level where my abilities can help the team I play for and I can further my education. After getting linebacker MVP at an NUC combine in the summer prior to my Sophomore year, I got invited to the " NUC U-100 Top Prospect ELITE camp" in Norman, OK, where I was awarded a Top Ten Ranking - being rated #6 among all 2015 Linebackers. Here is the write up that I received at the NUC Fresno combine (April 2012), "Nelson has good length and excellent lateral movement. He was able to turn his hips and run to the boundary in coverage. He was also physical at the point of attack. He ran a 4.53 shuttle and had a 26-inch vertical." I also play basketball in the winter and run track in the spring. I also have many outside interests like hunting and fishing with friends and family. I regularly attend church and often volunteer at our local rescue mission. My family and I also are involved in 4-H. I show lambs, and I am also the Vice President of my 4-H club. My family fully supports my goals, and are behind me all the way!
