I am a running back, safety and outside linebacker at La Serna High School in Whittier, CA. I played both Baseball and Football until my junior year. During my junior year, I made the difficult decision to hang up my baseball spikes for good in order to make academics and my continued development as a football player my primary focus and goal.
During the 2013 football season, I contributed to the success of La Serna's football program, starting on both sides of the ball. Through hard work and determination, La Serna won the CIF Southern Section Southeast Division Championship, it's first in almost 50 years. At the conclusion of the season, I was selected to the First Team All Del Rio League as a running back, Second Team All Del Rio League as an outside linebacker and First Team All Area as an All-Purpose Player by the Whittier Daily News. I was also recognized by the La Serna coaching staff as the "Iron Man" and "Special Teams" Player of the Year. Based upon my performance during the 2013 season, I was selected as one of three team captains for the 2014 football season, a tremendous honor I take very seriously.
My past coaches have described me as a very hard worker, focused and extremely coachable. I believe in giving 100% toward every repetition, whether it be practice or game. This belief has helped me become more goal oriented toward doing whatever is necessary to achieve my desire to play sports at the college level. It also provides me with tools I need to deal with adversity, knowing that, win or lose, I gave my best.
My ultimate goal is to use athletics as a means of receiving assistance toward a college education. I have a strong interest in pursuing a career in physical therapy and sports medicine. I fully understand the odds that face all student athletes as they compete for recognition at the college level. As such, I am willing to explore all options available to me to help achieve my goals.
I can assure any interested college/coach that they would receive nothing less than 100% of my energy toward helping making their program successful. Thank you.
