Personal Statement

My name is Taylor Rowe and I am currently a Sophmore at Montana Tech University. My major is liberal arts with the intent on pursuing criminal justice. I want to make a difference in Society by helping the youth stay out of trouble by showing them how to take advantage of the educational and athletic programs available. I worked this last summer at the Community, Counseling and Correctional Center in Butte Montana. I dealt with many people with a wide variety of issues but found out what helped them most was someone listening to their problems without judging them. I offered advice and told them they have to take charge of their life and do the right thing and make smart decisions. I have always tried to lead by example in life which is what I hope to pass on to anyone I meet. Additionally my education is a priority but I'm also looking to play football for a College that will utilize my athletic abilities and skills. I am a 5'11" 200 pound Running back that benches 330, squats 430, and runs a 4.5 Forty. I played in the Tri-County League Sac - Joaquin Section, North State Div III football league. I earned 2007 Team offensive MVP my Freshman year and rushed for over 1100 yards. My right humerus bone was broke twice my sophmore year, once during a summer camp scrimmage and on the first play of our Homecoming game, it has healed completely and has been no problem since. I ended my junior year with 253 carries for 1546 yards, 14 touchdowns. I was awarded the 2009 Team Offensive MVP award, Frank G. Beamer Trophy, 2009 All Tri County Full Back Honor and 2009 Mid Valley Offensive MVP award. Following this further, I ended my senior year with 266 carries for 1641 yards, 21 touchdowns and I was awarded the 2010 MVP Frank G. Beamer Trophy, Team Offensive MVP, Appeal Democrat Offesive Player of the Year, voted to the North/South All-Star team and All Tri County MVP. I have a relentless work ethic, earning me the nick name workhorse from my teammates. I want to participate in a football program that shares my values of Commitment, Dedication and Leadership year round and believes in developing both the student and the athlete which would give me the foundation to succeed in life. Please take a moment to read about some of my accomplishments at the bottom of the Athletics section titled Articles and Letters. Each article takes a few seconds to upload. Sincerely, Taylor Rowe
