Nicholas Wood '17 Recruiting Profile

At this time, my goals in college are to succeed in sports as a player and a scholar, as I've always prided myself on good grades. I played five years of basketball, five years of baseball including a year of varsity, and of course football for three years dating back to my sophomore season. I received First Team All-League my senior season for defense, and I enjoy reading offenses and thinking one step ahead of the quarterback.  In addition to team sports, I have been involved in martial arts, both Tae kwon do and Judo, have a black belt in both respected martial arts, and competed and won at the national level, including a first place medal at the 2014 Junior Nationals in Hawaii. Through participation in these sports, I have learned about professionalism, discipline and hard work. I never give up on my team mates and coaches, and they can always count on me when something needs to be done. When I'm on the field, I feel a responsibility not only for my own success, but also that of my teammates. Through hard work, I understand that the possibilities are endless, and I am one of the hardest workers I know.
