Kyani McFall '17 Recruiting Profile

The road to success is paved with many challenges. However, my mother always reminds me that if becoming successful was always easy then everyone would already be there. My name is Kyani J. McFall and I am currently a high senior at Benicia High School seeking to become a college graduate and successful football player. I began participating in various sports at the age of five. This is where I began developing my commitment, discipline, and teamwork skills. It wasn’t until I played my first POP Warner Football game that realized how much I loved the game. My goal from an early age was to become a successful football player. As I continue to mature, I realize that a solid education is a key to becoming successful in any area of life.

Over the years, I have my share of struggles and self-doubt. I was raised in a single parent home with a hard-working and supportive mother. I never met my father. I was fortunate to have strong morals and values instilled in my character at an early age. This kept me away from crime, drugs and other pitfalls that many in my position fall into. Family support and football are what kept me focused.

As much as I love playing the game of football, I am most grateful for the discipline it has instilled in me. Football has literally saved my life. As a young male growing up without an active father figure, I relied on football and guidance from my family to be my playbook on how to succeed in life. With the guidance of great coaches, personal trainers and even my fellow teammates, I was able to perfect my craft and learn from great mentors.

I realize now that playing football is not enough. An education is mandatory for my success in life. While I don’t expect college to answer all of life’s questions, I do understand it is an important part of a strong foundation.  I am committed to having a better life through an emphasis on dedication, determination and the will to never quit.
