Personal Statement
My name is Bolu Olorunfunmi. I am a student at Clovis North High School, Clovis California. I will graduate in 2015. I am an upcoming football prospect in the Central Valley of California. I was born in Nigeria on March, 5th 1997. I have been playing football since I was in the third grade, though I started with soccer and track. Since then, football has pretty much became a part of my life. I currently play the runningback position and run track for the Clovis North Broncos. I hope and plan to play football at the collegiate level.
I believe I have what it takes to get to the next level, attend college and play football. I have a very good work ethic in both sports and academics. I am always putting academics first before athletics. My grades reflect it. I was brought up and trained not to settle for less, I push for the best, striving for excellence. I want to major in medicine or biochemistry, and I know that that requires focus and dedicated study time. Time management between sports and academics is a quality that I have always demostrated and intend to keep in college. I am optimistic that any college that recuits me would be glad of it because of my passion and ability to excel in athletics and academics at the same time.
I believe I would contribute positively to the college I end up attending, not only by my athletic ability, but also by my personality. I am from a Christian home where ethical values, integrity, moralties and respect are highlighted. My father, a minister of God, constantly keeps me in line with righteousness, hence I have never had any problem with my behaviour or personal character. With this trait, I intend to be a good example of a college kid who has his work cut out for him, comes to play on the field, comes to work in the class room, and sets a perfect example by actions and behavior on and off the field. And I believe I am good when it comes to communicating with others. I am a very friendly person, and very social, so I would not be the quiet guy in the back, but the guy people know about. Fully aware that obedience is a key to success in everything including sports, I am all ears when coaches are coaching me up. As a great listener, I never take my coaches' words in vain, so I cherish them and put them into play on the field or by my actions. I am a strong Christian, who beleives that I can do all things through Christ that strentghens me. I keep my faith strong in God and I pray daily. And with all these attributes I beleive that I'm a great choice for your college.
