Personal Statement

I am at Mount San Antonio (Mt. Sac) Community College in Walnut, CA.

The Mt. Sac 2012 Season (11-1) captured a Conference and Southern California Championship.

I'm currently eligible to transfer (winter 2013).

Two of my strengths are leadership and my ability to quickly learn an offense. (see coach's recommendation letter below)

  • I have my AA, satisfying the NCAA 4-2-4 rule.

  • I have 2  years eligibility remaining.

  • I have a 3.3 GPA

I transferred to J.Serra High School as a junior and won the starting spot as QB. As a white player at an all-black high school, I was priviledged to play for head coach Scott Altenberg and with recievers like

  • Robert Woods (USC),

  • Marquis Lee (USC)

  • George Farmer (USC)

Norm Chow recruited me from Serra to UCLA.  I spent my red-shirt freshman year 2009-10 running the scout team, gained an enormous amount of experience. I played in UCLA's spring game 2010 at the Rose Bowl, throwing (4 for 4) including the only passing touchdown. (See UCLA video)

  • 2011 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAMPIONS (5TH Consecutive) 2011 STATE AND NATIONAL DIVISION RUNNER-UP

  • 2010 SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA CHAMPIONS (4th Consecutive!) 2010 NATIONAL DIVISION SOUTHERN CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS

  • 2009 & 2010 STATE AND NATIONAL CHAMPIONS

To Whom It May Concern, It is with extreme pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation on the behalf Ted Landers. I have known Ted for over a year, serving as his position coach on the Mt. San Antonio College football team. I have worked with Ted on all matters pertaining to his academics and athletics during his time at the College.

Since the first day Ted stepped on the field he has been a model leader. Ted is exceptionally perceptive. It is almost as if he is constantly calculating different routes to get our team to where it needs to be. Whether he be in a film study session or in a pressure packed game, Ted is always able to adapt, stay level-headed and enthusiastically accept challenges as they come. Ted's maturity, patience and faith are what really separate him from others. Although he has great leadership skills, it is his ability to know when to listen and learn from others that earns the respect of others. Ted is always engaging in healthy competition with teammates, giving credit where credit is due and makes all players and coaches better.
As dedicated and hardworking as Ted is as our team's Quarterback, he is even more excited to experience Politics first hand. The skills that he will bring with him will guarantee that he will be a productive member of any staff.  Simply put, Ted Landers is the best leader I have ever had the pleasure of coaching.

Sincerely yours, Daniel Algattas Associated Students Director, Assistant Football Coach
