Personal Statement
My collegiate goals and aspirations all reflect the core values I have inherited through my family and life experiences. The challenges I have faced, my losses, my accomplishments, and my family have all established who I am and what I stand for. Family, hard work, determination, and disproving those who doubt my abilities has created my intense motivation to excel. My willingness to work to the best of my ability is a result of the constant scrutiny I have faced as a smaller athlete. People tend to overlook my athletic abilities on the grounds that my height differs from the overwhelming majority; however, I continually disprove all conceptions each time the whistle blows. Throughout high school I have faced skeptics who doubt my ability to play at the collegiate level. This has inspired my success on the field and in the class room. I have received awards for my playing ability, and my academics. I was awarded a sportsmanship award from my school, and also a scholar athlete with a 3.5 or higher. I feel that I can find my role in helping any institution achieve success.
