Personal Statement
I am Kearn Gerber, I am from Moffat County High School in Craig, Colorado. My whole life I have been raised to take responsibility for my actions and to hold myself accountable for my mistakes. I was raised on a ranch and it is this lifestyle that has taught me the responsiblity I know today. Always having other animals that rely on me for their food and to keep them from getting sick has taught me the skills that have helped me be a better athlete and better person today. These skills help me on the field by allowing me to not blame other people for the mistakes I make. When I miss a block as tight-end I know I can't get down on myself but instead I have to make the block the next play. I have been working ever since I was able to, because of this I know how to work hard and am not intimidated by hard work. I give everything I have every play and work hard at everything I do. I have always been held responsible for the jobs given to me and have been expected to do my jobs to the best of my ability. I know if I get beat it is because I my oponent was better than me and I know that I need to better myself, but it is not because I didn't give it my all. No matter what my duty is I will do my best to get the job done. I can go from blocking at tight-end to a wide-receiver catching passes 40 yards down field. I am willing to try my hardest at any position I am asked to play and will do whatever my coach asks of me. Through my actions I am a leader for my team by inspiring my teammates to work hard and give it their all too. I have also maintained good grades throughout all of high school and take grades very seriously. Football has been a sport I've stuck with throughout my whole life and would enjoy continuing this passion of mine through college, especially if it helps to pay for my schooling.
