Played the 2013-2014 season for Wray High School as an exchange student. Completely new to the game and was placed as the Varsity starting kicker. Have attended 2 kicking camps in July of 2014 where I had placing's in competitions. Ray Guy camp I placed 1st in the Field Goal competition with a 55 yard off ground kick and runner up at NCS camp with 50 yard off ground kick. I practice kicking everyday that I don't play club volleyball which is a total of 4-6 days on average as well as also training in a gym 6 days a week.
ACADEMICS:
I am a high achieving student currently earning excellence grades in my countries academic system. I am a student with good work ethic and study habits which are proven through my grades. I also know how to handle pressure situations as I completed my whole school year in 2013 in the time period of 5 months opposed to 10-11 months. That year i also achieved the year with a merit endorsement. I am currently working towards being a civil and structual engineer. I have volunteered for leadership roles such as a school house captain and a peer mentor for a freshman student. I am part of a cultural board that has the main objective of boosting the native heritage of New Zealand in the school. I have volunteered to coach junior volleyball teams both boys and girls as well as captaining my senior team in 2013 and being vice captain for my 2014 senior season. I was also awarded Player of The Year from my 2013 season. My GPA has been transferred from my countries NCEA system to an American GPA equivalent using my national standards system. This GPA was calculated from my first year of NCEA (2012) as part of my 2013 year was spent in USA. My 2014 will be converted as soon as i finish the year. The transcript is under my academics tab.
OVERALL STATEMENT
I aspire to play sport at a high level as well as get an education at an equally high level. I have a huge passion for sport and love the culture involved in it especially in America. I have been heavily involved in a large variety of sports from a young age, also ranging from playing socially to competitively and even representatively. I played soccer from the age of 5 to 13 where in my final years I represented the top team of my area club, I also played volleyball from 13 to 17 where i have played for school every year and have ranked high nationally with our most recent ranking of third in the nation. I have also played for a mens club that is recently formed but has gained a spot in the top teams for the mens division in the nation and i have also represented the country in a sub 19 tournament overseas and have been selected for many national team squads. Other sports i have played less competitively are Surf-Life-Saving, Waterpolo, Swimming Squads, Cricket, Golf and Athletics to name a few. I am very active and excersize and go to the gym regularly and have recently competed in an Aquathon for a school assessment.
In the 2013 football season i played for the Wray Eagles Football team from Colorado while on my high school exchange. I started as an offensive linemen in the J.V team being new to the game but quickly moved to become a kicker for the varsity team as well. This transitioned a new passion in the game for me and it was something i was surprisingly good at. I set a touchback record for the school being the only kicker to have touchbacks in the records for recorded years. At the end of our season my coaches were really suggesting the idea of pursuing a scholarship for being a Football kicker, and that brings me here. My goal is to eventually gain a scholarship and to aspire to be a academic and sport driven student in the American college lifestyle. My new found passion for football and kicking in football pushes me to become the best that i can and basically number 1. I train hard and my knowledge of other sports provides me with knowledge that i can apply to my relevant sports which in this case is football. I am a hard trainer and know how to put hours in for results which can be seen in my volleyball achievements and i can easily apply this to my Football. I aim to be the best kicker i can be for my team mates and my coach, not only to support them but the college and community i am within. Not only be a great player but great person and friend to everyone around me. I believe teams go beyond the pitch and that's important for life long relationships and health.
