Personal Statement

Playing football in college has been a dream, a goal of mine since I was in 5th grade. Now that I am a student athlete at Arvada West high school in Arvada, Colorado I am working hard to make my dream come true. I may not be the biggest, the strongest, or the fastest but I know for a fact that nobody will out work me. Every day I spend hours in the weight room and on the field to become the best I can be. I am fully aware of the time commitment and effort it takes to play at the next level and I am ready and excited to take the challenge head on.

I am willing to do whatever it takes in order to help out the team. For example, this past season after a couple of games I was asked to also play the offensive line. At 185 pounds everybody knew I was under sized but I put my hand in the dirt and played ball. This is why in my 2015 highlight tape it shows me in jersey #42 as well as #52. This along with my leadership, dedication, effort on and off the field, and the fact that I didn’t miss one practice; I received the Ironman Award from my coaches.

I am very excited about my junior season with 102 tackles in 9 games, and being only 15 pounds away from both the bench and squat records for linebackers that I plan on breaking soon. I have already set my goals of more tackles and more tackles for losses during my senior season. I'm very proud of my football accomplishments and even more proud of my 3.7 GPA, and being awarded with first team all-state academics. I am planning on majoring in business such as sports marketing, or sales. After volunteering at the cats crawl (a 5k race put on by my school) and working at an Arvada midget football camp and helping younger kids learn the game. I'm excited to see what college team I will be playing with and I know you won’t find a more committed player.
