Personal Statement
My ambitions in life are to receive a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and Technologies on a football scholarship, and to gain meaningful employment in the field of robotics. In fourth grade I attended a conference where dads talked to us about their careers. I learned about engineering (biomechanical) and began to see myself in that field. Being a Mechanical Engineer is something I’ve aspired to be for quite a while, however, I wasn’t sure that this was the career for me until I was a part of the Cornerstone Robotics team. There, I had hands-on experiences with designing robots and learning computer programming, confirming my interest and skills in Mechanical Engineering.
Another ambition is to win the FCAAPS football championship with my team at Cornerstone Academy and earn MVP. Winning the state championship would be great to put on my resume and college applications, as well as another team MVP award. Our football team has close relationships and is a “working machine” this year. I feel confident we’ll win this year, but I need to remain healthy and unhurt as does my co-captain. If either of us goes down our team will struggle to win.
Another ambition is to “change someone’s world” through Cornerstone Capstone Projects. This is the prescribed requirement and although it is a short term goal, I’m looking forward to it. In order to graduate from my school we have to have a cornerstone capstone project. This is a semester-long activity where each of my class mates goes into the world to make a large impact in some people’s lives.
Long term, I’d like to get married to a beautiful, intelligent, and godly wife, preferably have three children, and a dog. These are blessings for which I pray.
Finally and ultimately I’d like to serve in a local church by volunteering my services. This may include going on mission trips to spread the gospel by using my ability to engineer, or holding a small group where friends could come over and fellowship with each other.
