Live a God purpose life, major in engineering and play football. My life goals are to be a leader of men in the pursuit of bettering my community and the world. I plan to be a successful husband, father and businessman and believe that my education and playing on a great football will give me the tools to excel. The better I am, the better those will be around me.
I am a strong and versatile athlete with speed at inside Linebacker and H-Back in short yardage situations.
2013 - Ten Game Summary (prior to Florida State Playoffs) - Alex Awad ended the regular season by reaching his goal of 100 tackles, 14 behind the line, 9 Quarterback pressures, and four sacks and two fumble recoveries. You will see solid techniques in pass drops, hip movement and lateral and vertical footwork. You will note strength in filling holes, taking on blocks and stuffing running plays. His technique of splitting the double teams has put him in the backfield for big plays. Awad studies hard to insure he has the right reads and has been effective in the blitz packages with tackles behind the line and Quarterback pressures. You will see several plays where he defeated the blockers and made the tackle. Be sure to check out his HUDL Highlights at http://www.hudl.com/athlete/1485404/alex-awad
2012 – My season highlights include 30 solo and 25 assist tackles with five tackles coming behind the line and one and half sacks with two hurries. My vision and ability to recognize and react to offensive sets and tendencies have caused Quarterbacks to audible away from theier called play. I caused four incompletes with hard hits on receivers as the ball arrived. My hustle and “play to the whistle attitude” has put me in position to make strategic tackles, killing the momentum of opponents. In short yardage and goal line situations I love to get on the field as an H-back where I have been effective in gaining first downs and touchdown yardage.
I am interested in college football programs that are on the rise and universities that will provide me with a great engineering education while pursuing his goal of becoming a player at the highest level.
