Personal Statement
My name is Blake Sikes. I am a 5’11, 220lb Offensive lineman living and playing in Valrico, Florida for Newsome High School. I highly value my family, my team and my education. I am a National and Spanish Honor Society student –Athlete, who desires a strong academic program that will make me a future leader in society.
My goal and dream is to play football at the next level. Playing on the offensive side of the ball is my strong point, as well as my passion. I have learned that nothing comes easy in life that you have to work hard for what you truly want to accomplish. Train hard and have the determination to overcome obstacles with skill and technique, and this is the reason I played weak side tackle in 2014 and earned a starting position. Currently for the 2015 season I am strong/weak side pulling guard. I am dynamic and versatile player and can play any position that the teams needs. I am a leader, and take pride in being a role model for my fellow peers. I am a committed student-athlete and give my full effort to whatever task is at hand - on and off the field. In the off season I am a three year varsity wrestler, this year at 220lbs, to improve my speed, agility and balance. I am in leadership positions in my JROTC program as the inspector General Assistance in my 4th year. I love being part of a team. I come from a winning culture, military family, and understand that hard work and dedication is what it takes to be successful in sports, the classroom, and life.
I desire a school with great academics and an active student body. I am very interested in a team with a history of winning and a strong work-ethic. If you give me the opportunity to play for your team, you will gain a dedicated leader who gives his full effort, and is willing to do what it takes to win on the field and in the classroom.
