Preston Ott '16 Recruiting Profile

I am currently in my junior year at Community School of Naples which I have attended since pre-K.  My passion for football began in the third grade when I played for a full contact youth team in the Naples Football League.  I began my OL career as a left tackle and played that position through eighth grade.  Starting in ninth grade I was moved to center because of the loss of a graduating senior.  I have started at center the last three seasons and have improved each year in my play at that position.  I have been fortunate to play with the same offensive line the past three seasons accumulating a record of  27-7.  My teammates and I have developed a special bond, one I will miss next year as four of them graduate this spring.  I will anchor a new OL my senior year, and there has been some discussion by my head coach that I will move back to left tackle.  However, our offensive coordinator has expressed interest in retaining me at center due to my experience at the position.  I am looking forward to providing leadership to a new group of CSN linemen.  In addition to offensive line, I regularly rotate in the defensive tackle and nose guard positions.  
During the off season I have committed myself to strength, speed, and agility training.  I am in a supervised six day a week program and am already seeing positive results.  I will play baseball this spring where I am a pitcher and corner infielder.  Continuing to work hard in my academic studies, in a rigorous school like CSN, is important to me.  I am taking courses which are challenging and interesting.
Football has been an important part of my life and I look forward to playing in college.
