Personal Statement
Ever since I can remember, I wanted to play football. In my early years, my mother was too afraid that I would get injured and would not let me play regular football. My first organized football experience was playing flag football with the YMCA. At age 13 I began playing organized football with the Salvation Army. After playing with the Salvation Army my drive to play at a higher level grew. I wanted to play football at the high school level. Starting my freshman year, I began playing with the J.W. Mitchell High School Junior Varsity team. The coaches quickly noticed my abilities and placed me as an offensive lineman. I learned so much during my first year. By my sophomore year, I was a starter on the team. As my abilities grew stronger I was moved up to Varsity in mid-year. I received recognition from my coaches as I was named best lineman of the year. In my junior year I continued playing as a starter as an offensive lineman. I made the “All Conference” team in Pasco County. I again was recognized by my coaches as lineman of the year.
As I am preparing for my senior year, I dream of continuing my football career at the college level. Academically, I have a 3.48 GPA. I believe I have the desire, drive, and character to be the best student athlete that I can be. I listen to my coaches as I believe no one knows everything. I frequently ask questions that will help improve my abilities and knowledge. I welcome all feedback as I strive to learn more.
I believe my work ethic sets me above average. I do my very best at each practice and each game. I make it my goal to finish all my tasks to the best of my abilities.
