Personal Statement
My name is Alex Swenson, I am a student athlete from Oviedo Florida who was recruited for Football by The United States Naval Academy offensive coordinator Ivan Jasper. I accepted the scholarship and the opportunity to attend one of the most prestigious schools in the nation. This year I spent my time at the Naval Academy Preparatory School where I was able to grow in the classroom as well as playing a full schedule that included top tier Juco programs. After spending time at the Prep school I have chosen to take a different path in pursuing my college degree. I still have four years of eligibility left and I am excited to find my new home. Below is my letter of recommendation from the Naval Academy offensive coordinator Ivan Jasper.
It is my privilege to write this recommendation for Alex Swenson. I recruited Alex out of Hagerty High School in Oviedo Florida. In all of my dealings with Alex he has shown to be a young man of character, intelligence, and talent. He is now at our Prep School in Newport Rhode Island and is displaying the leadership and work ethic that every coach hopes for from his players.
Alex is one of the hardest working student athletes that I have recruited to our prestigious institution in my 17 years at the Naval Academy. He never takes a day off. He leads by example. Alex is a relentless, physical football player that can play on either side of the ball. Best of all Alex is a great teammate. He’s a young man who puts team and his brothers first on a day to day basis.
As fine a football player as Alex is, he is even a finer young man. He displays a great attitude in the classroom. The same work ethic that has made him such a good football player has made him a solid student.
I strongly believe that Alex Swenson will be an asset to any program. He will figure out what he has to do to be successful and then he will go about getting it done. No one will outwork him. He will combine his God given talent with a great desire to excel and a work ethic that is second to none. I encourage you to give Alex strong consideration.
