Personal Statement
After being promoted to the varsity team while in the 9th grade, this advancement allowed me to know that I have the ability to be greater than some of my peers. I am currently in the 11th grade and started on the varsity team all three years. Our team has been district champs for the last three years. This progression in my football years has led me to strive for greater accomplishments.
I have been led by some of the most amazing coaching staff ever. I currently reside in a very small rural area, and last year the decision was made to hire on the first African American head coach. I know for some this was not a big deal, but for myself this encouraged me to be a greater athlete to show him that his hard work to get to his position was not fruitless. I strive to be a team leader in no only my words by in my actions as well. I am looking for a program that will challenge me athletically but also a program that will feed my desire for knowledge.
