Personal Statement
I dislike losing more than I love winning whether it is in the classroom or on the field. Being competitive has been in my DNA since birth and I apply it to all aspects of my life. One of my coaches instilled in me, "It is not what you do, it is how you do it" You don't just go to the classroom or to practice, you go and give 100% effort and try to be better than what you were the day before. That mindset and hard work mentality has helped me to give it my all in everything I do. I am humble by nature and I try to let my actions do my talking. I enjoy going to practice every day. My belief is that no one will be better than me and no one will outwork me on the field. I have been very fortunate to grow as a son of a football coach. I learned back from my Pop Warner days the importance of watching and breaking down film, which has carried over to my early career in high school. I love every aspect of football whether it is coaching with my father, watching film or even refereeing in a city league. I guess you can call me a football junky. I have also been fortunate to be raised in a strict, loving Catholic household with my mom, dad, brother and sister. Respect, values and that my words should have meaning have been taught to me since my early childhood. My parents have also ingrained into my head to always try to treat people the way in which you would like to be treated no matter how challenging it may seem at times. I have set and written down lofty goals for myself. I am never satisfied and honestly try to focus on how and what can I do to get better tomorrow. They're still are naysayers and the negative comments that cross my path but my answer has and will always be: there is no one or anything that will get in my way of me achieving MY goals!
