Personal Statement

My name is John Rego III a 2019 Graduate from Jacksonville, Florida. I currently attend Mandarin High School where I am a two-sport athlete, playing baseball in the Spring and football in the Fall. My objective is to attend a college or university where I can excel in academics and better myself in the football program. I understand that talent only gets a person so far in what they are working towards, but the drive, passion, dedication and my hard work ethic is what makes a person excel on the field and in the classroom. I am very knowledgeable of the game and work on being the leader of my High School team from the defensive side of the ball to practices, in the classroom as well as on the field with my all my teammates. I would love the opportunity to play for a collegiate program on any level and I think with these characteristics and hard work I could become an asset for your program. I look forward to discussing these items with you and hearing more about your college and football program.

Team qualified as the #1 seed going into the City Championship to be held at Everbank Stadium on Nov. 3rd. This is the 3rd straight year this team has qualified for the City Championships at JPW, PW and now JM.

  • The Savannah State University football team and coaches would like to invite interested high school student-athletes to attend one of our 2018 Football Prospect Camps. Camp instruction includes general football and position-specific skills, as well as instruction in strength & conditioning. Campers will get the chance to display their athletic ability to college coaches through athletic competition and other drills used by the Savannah State University Football Program.

This camp is designed to give each individual athlete a solid foundation in the basic football fundamentals needed to excel at your position.   • The 2013 Future Stars Game will feature a matchup between Team Georgia and Team Florida that will be played in Jacksonville, Florida on June 15th 2013. The goal of the Future Stars Corporation is to provide kids with life lasting memories,while educating them on life, academics, social media, and college. The players will spend the game week on a campus being coached by top high school coaches. The Future Stars Game will feature the top 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in the state of Florida as they take on Team Georgia. Future Stars Corp is a non-profit organization whose mission is to influence the lives of young people through sports. "Future Stars Game hopes to be more than an all-star event for your kids, but a vehicle for them to reach their dreams. We look to be a part of their lives to help them secure college scholarships, mentoring, academics, and athletics long after they are done with the Future Stars Game" says Valister Wilson its Director. The Future Stars Game will be held June 15, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida. The players will report to camp on June 12th. Hundreds of players try out to represent their state in the Future Stars Game. Tryouts for Jacksonville, Florida is March 30, 2013.

  • By attending the camp I got a chance to compete against other 7th graders in my area. We competed in the 40yd dash, 20yd shuttle and individual drills. I competed in linebacker drills and receiving drills. From the camp, players will be selected for the 2014 Future Stars Game. I made the 6th grade Team Florida team last year and am looking to make the 7th grade this year.

  • Young athletes at the camp learn to play the game the way it is meant to be played - full speed and full-contact. This accomplishes a couple goals at the same time. First a foremost, campers get a better learning experience learning by doing. Campers improve most when they are able to actively engage in what they're learning as opposed to being told what to expect and not putting their skills to the test until they finally take the field at a later date. We work comprehensively with the athletes during this process to make sure they are well-equipped to not only deliver tackles and hits in a safe manner, but to receive them safely as well. This method of safe and effective tackling not only serves camp attendees well while they are at an Offense-Defense event - it also remains effective as they take their game into team competition.
