Personal Statement
I simply cannot imagine a different or better life. I have lived in 7 countries, on 4 continents. I have an amazing family who has given me the opportunity to pursue my football passion and dream. With a world of opportunity before me, I am running to achieve my heart's desire and the goal set before me. But, it did not start this way. My twin sister and I were orphaned shortly after birth in rural Cambodia. But by the grace of God, we were adopted by parents that emphasize deep faith, strong inner character, hard work, and never, ever giving up. I have taken this to heart. I am blessed with a sharp mind and take my studies seriously. As the first person in my birth family to get an education of any kind, I don't take school for granted. I know that I must work hard to achieve my goals. While grades reflect achievement, I believe learning is more than obtaining high scores. I pursue knowledge and understanding that will make me a better man and a more skilled physician. After high school, I would like to pursue a degree in sports medicine. I believe a medical degree will enable me to give back to my community and enable me to travel abroad on medical mission trips. My sister and I both can testify to the work of the missionaries who gave to our village and saved our lives.
While I know there are many young men pursuing collegiate sport scholarships, I believe I am different from many if not most. I am a hard worker, have a positive attitude, and give 110% during every practice and game. I lead by example. I am reliable on and off the field. I make the daily sacrifices necessary to be focused. I believe one of my greatest assets is being a learner. I know that no matter what I already know, there is always more to learn. I can always be better, do better, and strive for more. I listen to my coaches and take their teaching and constructive criticism seriously. I strive to communicate with my coaches and teammates in a way that is respectful as well as be a strong contribution toward the success of the team. I believe that I am a force to be contended with on the field. For the 2015 season I rushed for more than 1,000 yards and led my team to the Czech National Championship Final in which I ran for 350 multipurpose yards and scored all 3 touchdowns in our National Championship game, which we won, earning us the title of Czech National Champions. I am not only a serious contender on the field but I also choose to be a strong influence among my teammates by using my leadership skills to positively affect each members of my team and build team unity. While I will definitely see it as a privileged to play college football, I also truly believe that any team will be strengthened with me on their roster. My American coaches in the Czech Republic encouraged my parents to get me to the States where I could play at a higher level and gain the exposure I need to earn a position on a college team. My American parents blessed me to come to the States on my own, and enroll in Columbia High School as a Junior for the 2016 football season. CHS is a Florida Class 7A State Championship contender under the leadership of Head Coach Brian Allen, who played as a scholarship athlete at FSU and went on to the NFL to play in two Super Bowls. CHS is one of the best high school programs in the nation. After completing my senior season at CHS, I graduated early to return to Europe to play in the European league for 19 year olds and above. As a 17 year old, I was given special permission by the IFAF Europe to compete up two years. Our season runs from April to July this year at which point I will return to the States to play college ball. I am running strong and I will not quit until I have the opportunity to use my athletic skills and gifts in collegiate football and potentially one day in the NFL.
