Personal Statement
Growing up, I was always a big kid which means, I've had to work the hardest just to play football. I was born 9lbs 9oz and playing Optimist football was always a challenge due to my weight. I wasn't overweight (to me) but I was always bigger than the allowed size for the team. In order to play, I had to work at losing weight and keeping it off. This went on for years until I started playing varsity football where my weight was a help more than a hindrance. Hard work has never been a problem for me. I knew football was what I wanted to do so I pushed myself. I was a member of the 5000 role models and the Kappa league mentoring program. I also volunteer with a non-profit organization that helps bring awareness to domestic violence. I believe that I am a great recruit because I work hard all year round, not just during the season because I have always been determined to be better than I was yesterday. My goal in life is to play professional football and have my own engineering company.
