Personal Statement
Playing the game I love at the next level is something I have dreamed about for a long time. I realize to do that I need to be the best student-athlete that I can be. I am an honors student and strive to be at my best in the classroom. As a two sport varsity athlete this year, I take on a leadership role on campus by having a positive attitude and being a good role model. I have been very fortunate to have God, my parents, and my coaches in my life to support and encourage me to pursue my dream of playing college football. I have been playing football since I was 5 years old. Our youth team had 3 consecutive losing seasons. I discovered through those tough years that, football is a sport that requires hard work, dedication, execution, and teamwork.
As a freshman, I was on the varsity basketball team, we won the district championship my freshman year and were runner up my sophomore year. It has made me hungry to compete on the varsity level for football and help my team have the same success. Basketball has helped me with my athleticism and eye-hand coordination. I pride myself on my ability to catch the ball with my hands and in traffic. However, this year I was asked to move to H-back and tight end. I took on the challenge knowing that it is what my coaches and team mates needed me to do to help our team win. My focus was to become faster and a more physical receiver. Now I am focused on my blocking technique and any other skills it will take to become one of the countries best H-backs in the class of 2023. I believe through hard work in the classroom, weight room, and on the field, that I can achieve my aspirations of playing collegiate football.
