Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Tochukwu Ohuabunwa, but everybody calls me Tochi or TJ. I would say the biggest thing that defines me, or i try to let define me, is my faith.
I play at Archer High School in Lawrenceville, Ga. Gwinnett County. I was an All County Player of the Year Honoree, 2 time runner up player of the month, 3 time Gwinnett Daily Post player of the week, lead my position in tackles for loss, lead my team with a grade average of 96, and was an All County Scholar Athlete.
I was injured my junior season and didn't get to play, but I took the time to develop the best I could and worked to comeback strong for my senior year. Taking a year off, especially as a junior, is tough, but i pray it all worked out for the best.
I would say my biggest strengths are, my:
1) character
2) relentless attitude
3) ambition
I try to pride myself on these things, in every aspect of my life; academics, training, socially, and of course on the field because "excellence is not a sometimes thing." Because of my faith i look at football as a blessing and gift in my life; gifting in my ability to play the sport and in the opportunity i have to even play it at all. I try to take full advantage of the opportunity by giving my absolute everything, all the time. Along with the opportunity to play ball, a top notch education is priority as i aspire to attain as high as a MD and then PhD at some point. Music is also a big part of my life. I currently play 7 different instruments and intend to pursue that some as a minor in college. I've grown up playing a lot of team ball and intend to bring that mentality to any program. However, my entire life I've been told I have a lot of potential, so I'm looking for a program in which I can really learn and develop as a player, fulfill myself as an athlete, and accomplish something special as a team. I hope to carry these same principles and traits that have driven me thus far in life, over to your team coach, and contribute myself to the success of your program.
