Personal Statement
As of now, I am a Senior at Benedictine Military School acting as a key role on my football team. My positions on the team include; a 2 year starter as Wide Receiver in an elite offense, which set records for average scoring, and a 2 year key player in the secondary for a defense ranked number 1 in the state which allowed on average 5.4 points per game. As much as I want to stand out and be a top player on offense and defense, I also do my best to make myself available at any position on the field. I fulfilled this through playing on every special team available for the past two years while still playing key roles in Offense and Defense. These ethics that I picked up from one football program overflows onto the basketball court and baseball field, and it shows. As the 2014 2A Baseball State Champions, I realized that hard work does pay off, as I hope to take that experience and use it to get better in everything that I do.
Throughout my high school career, I not only pursue greatness on the field but exhibit the same work ethic in the classroom as well. In doing so I have pushed myself in my studies by partaking in the most challenging classes made available to me; taking multiple honors courses as well as AP courses. Along with my leadership on the field, I also hold great responsibilities in J.R.O.T.C as 1st Sergeant ( Second highest position for a Junior) and being in the top 10 percent in my J.R.O.T.C. class. I have also been nominated to receive the Deering award which awards one student from the surrounding schools who has played three sports and maintained a high GPA for three 3 years straight.
I have had this work ethic in my studies as well as football, basketball, and baseball, and would like to continue this lifestyle as a student-athlete in a college atmosphere. The characteristics that I have grasped throughout high school make me fully capable to act as a team player while keeping grades high.
