Personal Statement
At a young age, I enjoyed playing and watching football. Although I did more watching than actually playing at first. I began playing football for Pop Warner in the fifth grade, a sponsor for recreational football in Virginia, where I lived with my mom at the time. I wasn't very good and started to pursue other sports like basketball and baseball. I later moved to Georgia to live with my dad and decided to give it another try. At that time I was in the eighth grade and it wasn't much better, but I stuck with it simply because by that time I'd developed a dream of being remembered for being a great player. Though I was originally at tight end in the eighth grade, I was later moved to defensive end in the ninth grade, where I still had some trouble, but it was a start. As I steadily improved, I eventually started rotating in the game my junior year and now as a senior, I'm starting, been named Defensive Player of the Week, Team Captain twice this season, and named Top Cat 2014. My squat, bench and power clean total over 1000 lbs. with 4.8 40 yard dash time are accomplishments. My short term goal is to attend college and pursue a degree in computer science. This however does not interfere with my ultimate goal which is to play football in the NFL. Obtaining this degree takes a lot of hard work and determination. I will also use these tools on the football field as well. I want to be remembered as a role model to other young kids, that they can have dreams and heart to become a productive member of society.
