It’s 4:30 in the morning. The metal clanging, my heart is pumping, the adrenaline is kicking. My shirt is drenched in sweat, preparing myself for this coming season of football. I am 4 reps into my last set of my deadlifts and I start thinking of me playing ball in the bigs. I push harder, I start psyching. I see myself running full blast, laying the running back out from my DB position, and the crowd going “aaaaahhhh” is the best feeling ever. Winning BIIF championships and making all BIIF conference first team DB is just a little something, as I have bigger goals in mind, with nothing in my way to stop me.
It was the year 2013 when it hit me of what my future holds and what my dreams are. After winning the state championship for my pop warner team my 8th grade year, for the first time ever, I knew I wanted to play football in college. It was when I was 7 yeras old when I first started playing football. Just putting on my cleats and putting a helmet on puts a smile on my face because that is what I love doing.
With the career choice of graduating with a Masters degree in the field of Engineering, or as a backup, Fire science to be a firefighter, setting goals and knowing what my future holds isn’t so unpredictable. Learning from this, planning is key, and committing to these plans is what makes you successful. All my life, I have been surrounded by the environment of building, fixing, or installing things; it’s all I know. I would like to follow the tradition of the men in my family but become more successful and make the money I need to live comfortably, as they did not.
One person in my life, that is my hero, is my Ma. She’s always there supporting me, whether she agrees or not. She would do almost anything for me to help me have a bright future. I would do anything for her because of what she went through. Even though her situation was hard, she made sure I was well through the rough times, sacrificing almost anything to make me the person I am today. She is the reason I strive to go to college and be successful because it’s her I will be thanking when I am successful and taking care for in the future
The People you surround yourself with, is what will reflect the behavior and attitude you have towards life itself. My mom is why I am myself because of her sacrifices and the morals she lived by. My passion I have for the sport of football is deep and could never be broken, and that’s why my dream is to play in college, graduate, and come home take care of my ma, my family, and give back to my community because the community you live in is where you are from. Also the name on my back and the community I come from is what I represent, creating a name for myself and my family. The one thing that matters to me is the well being of my family and the community I plan to live in, making it a safe, innovational, and passionate community that will help the members of my community become successful themselves.
