Canaan Saole '14 Recruiting Profile

My father told me when I was a baby I would always have a ball in my hand.  It was either a tennis ball, ping pong ball, kickball, basketball, football, or any type of ball I would always carry or hold it in my hands.  When I was about 6 years old I remember watching my uncle play football and I fell in love with the sport.  To see my uncle so dedicated as a young man playing pop warner, high school, and then college football I knew that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.  Football has helped me be accountable for my actions on and off the field, helped me understand the meaning of loyalty and dedication.  It has also helped me stay on track with my education and football has helped me to become a better leader.  In the 1st grade we did a career project and my dream was to play football in the NFL.  I have never deterred from my dream job.  If NFL is not what my destiny is I want to study Criminal Justice and become an FBI agent.  I want to make sure that my family and friends are safe and everyone should abide by the same rules/laws.

My family and I have gone through so much in my 18 years of life that I want to make sure that I can help provide for my family after college.  We have struggled and had to overcome everything from health issues to my parents losing there job and us being homeless.  But we continued to kept moving on.  We struggle as one and we succeed as one.  My parents have shown me with their actions and lifestyle that no matter what happens in life even if everything is taken away we still have each other and we let these things make us a stronger and better person for myself first and then those around me.  No one could understand the struggle and pain that I have faced in the past 4-6 years, but I can not allow myself to give up on my dreams.  I will continue to keep moving forward with the prayers and support of my family.
