Personal Statement
Hi my name is Calvin “CJ” Hoohuli Jr. and I am from the island of Hawaii. I just wrapped up my sophomore year of college at Ventura College, a California JUCO. I am currently 6’3, 295. I play on the offensive line in the right and left guard positions. I’ve also played at right tackle this past 2011 to 2012 season. I also played special teams on the line for P.A.T as a right guard. I am trying to live my dream and play football for a four-year university.
This year we went 10-0 in season and clinched the conference title, but lost our playoff game. In the pre-season I was named as an offensive guard to watch on the 2012 JC Gridiron Interior OL Watch list for this 2012 season. After the season it was a blessing to be named honorable mention for the SCFA all-offense team for my conference this season. I was also ranked 19th in the nation on the top 25 list for the 2012 interior offensive linemen on the JC Gridiron. I am on the track to graduate this May with my AA degree. As of right now VC is ranked 5th in the nation.
What I have learned is to be successful you have to be a brotherhood, one team, one system, and that's how you win championships. Through hard work you can achieve all your goals, on and off the field. I would like to attend a college that can prepare me for pharmacy school. My family is unable to solely fund my college education. Due to this I will be applying for financial aid and scholarships; both academic and athletic.
