Personal Statement
When you look at my profile you will find I am a well-rounded leader who connects with a diverse group of personalities, has a strong work ethic and a sense of humor. I believe the activities I am involved in illustrate my points above. I am a three sport varsity athlete at a 4A school; football, baseball and track. I am part of an improv group, show choir, large group speech, and individual speech. I believe in giving back and have done so through a mission trip to Guatemala to build houses. I have been class president freshman, sophomore, junior years and now president elect for my senior year. I am also president elect of our varsity show choir. On top of all of those activities I maintain a 4.38 GPA in the most challenging high school in Iowa (and top 3% in the nation according to US News). Most of all, I like to knock guys into next Tuesday on the football field.
While academics has always been my first priority and sports a privilege, I have dreamed of playing college football as long as I can remember. I know being successful on the field takes a lot of work and I am in the weight room every day at 6 a.m. I have been working with the track coach on speed and agility since the 2015 season ended. I strive to be the hardest working athlete on the field, off the field, and in the classroom. I bring my knowledge and respect of the game, my work ethic, my drive to learn and continually get better to every workout, practice and competition. Having started every position on the offensive line from tight end to center, I am a versatile player. With all that being said, the one thing I want you to know is that I love to play football - the hard work, the discipline, the strategy and physicality of the game. I love that a team can accomplish more than a collection of individuals. I will be an outstanding representative of your football program/ school while I am there and long after I graduate.
